Denny Wood Endorses Maurice Ferre

by Denny Wood

Some days I feel that I am doing two races, as I have endorsed Maurice Ferre for the U.S. Senate. I often review and comment on articles in Florida newspapers when they leave him out of the U.S. Senate articles. I send out many e-mails to people with disabilities, their families and their supporters on why we need Maurice Ferre to win the Primary on August 24 and the General election November 2. He is the only candidate who has the great community service record in Govenment. The other candidates, in the lead, do not have a history of helping people with disabilities, or women in their effort to pass the ERA.

I consider myself as one of the “working volunteers” for Ferre. I have seen his polls go from 4% to 10% as of May 2 and I take some of the credit for this upward movement in the Polls. AND Crist’s constant decline in the polls as I e-mail away about his very negative record with people with disabilities since 1994. Crist has occupied offices in the capitol for ten years, with restrooms people in wheelchairs cannot access. He, among the other cabinet members, are serial ADA violators. Even Maurice Ferre does not know of my total effort to take Crist, Rubio and Meek out of this U.S. Senate race. Rubio never bothered to fix the House of Representatives ADA barriers. Worse, he was most brutal in the killing of the ERA resolution for women to be added to the U.S. Constitution.

I am not sure that Maurice’s Campaign Staff know that he can win this upcoming primary.

I do see Maurice spending every waking hour working on this effort.

With only under $200,000 collected, and moving up in the polls is a sign that we will see the fruits of our labor. And I see some recent additions to his campaign, including, Elizabeth Tetreault, Maurice’s New Director of Field Operations. She took the two photos of Maurice and me at the May 28 Maurice Ferre gathering at CalleOcho in Miami.

Maurice and I have much in common. We both have many years of dedicted community service. His service was as an elected person and my service was lobbying these elected officials. We both have low dollar campaign contributions thus far, and we both use our heads to compensate for these low dollar war chests. We both have our own campaign plans on how to win our two races.

Go to www.FERRE2010.com and see a very good and daily improving web site. And vote for Maurice on August 24 if you are a democrat!!!
