Dear Friends,

As most of you know by now my husband, Maurice, is running for the United States Senate for the State of Florida.

Maurice has had a long and brilliant political career, beginning as State Representative, City of Miami Commissioner, City of Miami Mayor for six consecutive terms, and Dade County Commissioner. Those were difficult and trying times, with Miami becoming a vibrant and cosmopolitan city.

He also served on many boards, all important to the State of Florida. His vast knowledge and experience in dealing with, and helping resolve complicated issues make him the perfect candidate for the position of U.S. Senator, a position not suitable for someone with little or no experience in the field of politics. He has the stature, experience and stability. You can trust Maurice.

Our family of five children and 12 grandchildren are all involved. Some, like Sonia, Leo and Jose Alberto, work along friends and a new generation of volunteers at the campaign headquarters everyday to help Maurice. We would like to ask for your help in spreading the word to your relatives and friends about Maurice and about this very important Democratic Primary election on August 24. Coincidentally, it is one day before our 55th wedding anniversary.

Our life, like that of many, has been one of ups and downs, but Maurice has never hesitated when it came to serving our community. He has worked hard to make Miami a global city, and a wonderful and prosperous place to be proud of.

Let us help him become your Senator in Washington, so that he can continue his quest and work to make Florida a great place to live in and prosper. The great place that we all love.
